Leaders showcase Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire at regional growth forum

Leaders from the LEP and both county and city councils will address attendees to a regional growth event next week.

The Midlands UK Forum for Growth 2020 is the official investment conference for the Midlands. It is a three-day virtual conference led pan-regional partnership, the Midlands Engine Partnership. The forum takes place on Tuesday November 24, Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26, from 9.30am to 1.15pm each day.

The event brings together more than 150 public and private sector organisations from across the Midlands, the UK and overseas, to achieve the region’s vision for greater sustainable growth and economic prosperity.

LEP chairman Alun Rogers, county council leader Alan White and city council leader Abi Brown will all speak at the event.

Alan White will join Abi Brown to speak at the Investing in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire – Building on Success session at 10.55am on Tuesday November 24. Later at 12.30pm Alun Rogers will address people attending the Infrastructure, People and Policy panel session. On Wednesday November 25 Abi Brown will speak at another panel session – Understanding the Dynamics of the Midlands Residential Market.

Keynote speakers include Sir John Peace, Chairman, Midlands Engine, and Andy Street CBE, Mayor of the West Midlands.

Forum themes are:

  • Day One: Growth – Delivering sustainable and good growth
  • Day Two: Collaboration – The opportunities for better public and private collaboration
  • Day Three: The Future – Priorities for the future and building on success

Each day there will be a series of major investment presentations from destination partners and local authorities about key opportunities in their geography, and panel discussions about delivering good growth on topics.

Organisers say that the conference will be of interest to UK & overseas investors, real estate and related sectors, banks, funds and private equity, housebuilders, housing associations, property lawyers, property surveyors, advisers, consultants and contractors.
