Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions Training – Online Training Sessions

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce will be holding free virtual Domestic Abuse Workplace Champion sessions in 2021 to train staff to spot the signs of someone suffering domestic abuse and to signpost them to support and advice.

These sessions will be 1.5 hours and split over 3 days. The first sessions will take place on 13th, 14th and 15th January 2021.  You will need to be able to attend all three sessions. The session will run from 10:00am and should be finished by 11:30am and will be held on Zoom.

Domestic abuse if estimated to cost the economy £66 billion a year. Domestic abuse can cause employees to be distracted at work, arrive late, leave early or miss work altogether. The workplace can also only be the safe place many victims have and it is important that businesses are well equipped to support them. There has been a significant climb in cases of domestic abuse during the pandemic, impacting a huge number of people.

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce are working with the Staffordshire Police, Crime and Fire Commissioner to support businesses across the region by offering free Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions training.

These Champions will get training to help to spot the signs of domestic abuse in the workplace and act as a confidential and supportive figure, being able to signpost to help and advice.

They have now trained over 240 Workplace Champions in nearly 100 companies across Staffordshire and it is having a big impact into the health and wellbeing of their staff.

The sessions are fully funded by the Office of the Police, Crime and Fire Commissioner so there is no cost to your business.

To book your place or the place of a colleague for the next series, or to register interest on future workshops, please e-mail or get in touch tom.nadin@staffordshirechambers.co.uk

The next sessions will be held on 19th and 26th  January and 2nd February all at 11:00am – 12.30pm. You will need to be able to attend all three sessions.
